Q: How can I get started?

A: We recommend that you begin with an Introductory Class. Intro classes are held Tuesday evenings and Thursday mornings.  If you are interested in attending, please call for availability.  All Intro classes are held under reservation, so please call to reserve your spot. 

Q: I've never taken a class like this before, what type of fitness level is required?

A: No experience is necessary; Our classes are designed for all women. Whatever your fitness level is, we have a class suitable for you. You can build on what you learn through each level by continuing on to the next. You may even wish to repeat a level in order to master the movements before moving on to the next.

Q: Is there a weight restriction, do I need to be thin?

A: There is a safety restriction of 250 lbs. for spins and lifts while pole dancing. Otherwise, Poleates is designed for the empowerment of women regardless of shape or size. You should accentuate your curves! You'll find a diverse group of women in our classes and everyone feels like one of the girls in no time!

Q: What do I wear to class?

A: This is a fitness class so come in comfortable workout clothes. For the pole dancing classes it is helpful to wear fitted clothes such as Pilates or Yoga wear and dress in layers for learning some striptease techniques. Remember, no lotion or hand jewelry. Also, no footwear is worn in our pole dancing classes (except in our advanced class where heels are optional). Experiment with what works best for you. What's most important is that you feel comfortable.

Q: How old do you have to be to take classes?

A: Our Members must be at least 18 years old to attend our Pole classes.  We do offer Mat Pilates that are designed for any age.

Q: Are the classes a good workout?

A: Poleates is one of the best workouts! Our classes offer a total body routine. Integrated Pilates moves strengthen your core will Pole Dancing requires you to lift your own body weight; providing you a great upper body workout. Wall routines strengthen your lower body and the movement throughout the class will keep your heart pumping for a great cardio effect!

Q: What if I'm shy?

A: Many women, in fact most women are shy to start. However, it doesn't take long before everyone lets their inhibitions go. We provide a safe, fun and supportive environment to explore your sensual and sexy side. What happens in the studio stays in the studio. If you still don't feel entirely comfortable, we also offer Private Lessons with one on one instruction.

Q: What do I need to bring to class?

A: We provide all mats and have water bottles available for purchase or you can bring your own.

Q: How Can I get my own pole for my home?

A: Having your own pole to practice at home is a great workout and they can be removed in seconds! Easy to install, easy to remove. Ask at the front desk we almost always have some in stock.

Q: Are men allowed to participate or view the classes?

A: Absolutely not. Poleates is not for men's entertainment. Poleates is about becoming confident with your body image. Our Pole Dancing courses are women's only. Men and children must remain in the main lobby and are not permitted in the change rooms or studios during classes. Our Pilates classes are co-ed.
